The new Johnston High School was designed to accommodate up to 1,800 students in Johnston, Iowa.  To support the music, theatre, and educational goals for the School District, a 1,200-seat auditorium, black box theatre, and choral/show choir music suite were included in the project.

D.L. Adams Associates designed a full-fly rigging system, performance/house lighting, and control system, an orchestra shell that can be flown out for storage and expansive audio-video system.  We also assisted with the layout, shaping, and arrangement of spaces, provided the seating layout and reviewed sightlines.

Our services for the black box theatre and music classrooms included drapery, tracks, and audio recording and playback systems.  We also provided design for black box theatre pipe grid and an LED-based lighting and control system.
