Auditorium at Westfield High School
Recently, our consultant Joe Chapman visited the Auditorium at Westfield High School in Weber, UT, where D.L. Adams provided rigging system design and acoustic consulting services. Alongside the stage rigging systems design services, DLAA coordinated closely with the Architect to optimize the sound isolation between the flexible dance space and the auditorium by implementing a vertically-folding retractable wall system. When the wall system is deployed, it creates a large flat surface that can lead to unwanted sound reflections in the auditorium. To tackle this issue, DLAA designed a drapery system that covers the wall system and stores in wall pockets when not in use. The effective installation of the wall and drapery systems was essential in achieving higher levels of clarity for the audience as well as on-stage presenters, performers, and musicians.
